At PuristIQ, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application. PuristIQ has no backend server and does not collect personal data on our infrastructure.
PuristIQ is an Offline First application. All your health profiles, dietary preferences, ingredient customizations, shopping lists, and scan history are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal health data to our servers.
Our app requires camera access to scan ingredient labels. All image processing happens locally on your device using on-device OCR. We do not store or transmit images to external servers.
Your personal data is stored exclusively on your device. Optionally, you may enable the Cloud Backup feature, which saves an encrypted backup file to your own Google Drive App Data Folder (Android) or iCloud (iOS).
This backup file is stored in a private, app-specific folder that is not visible in your regular Drive or iCloud interface and cannot be accessed by other apps or other users. PuristIQ has no access to this file — it exists entirely within your personal Google or Apple account.
Google and Apple may have access to data stored on their infrastructure as per their own privacy policies. Cloud backup is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time from the app settings.
When you enable Google Drive backup, PuristIQ requests the
drive.appdata scope. This scope grants access only to a hidden,
app-specific folder in your Google Drive. PuristIQ cannot read, modify, or delete any other files
in your Google Drive. The data written to this folder is your encrypted app backup and nothing else.

If you choose to contribute product data to our community database, submissions are sent anonymously. No account, name, or personal identifier is attached to contributions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
